The list adopts the taxonomic order, English and scientific names presented in the OSME Regional List, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.osme.org\/orl\/\" target=\"_blank\">ORL<\/a> as closely as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arabic bird names are currently not included in the Qatar List or ORL; the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/kuwaitbirds.org\/birds\" target=\"_blank\">Kuwait bird list<\/a> provides a useful resource in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most recent Qatar Bird List can be accessed  <a href=\"https:\/\/qatarbirds.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/qatar-bird-list-2022.pdf\">here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Every effort is made to keep the list up-to-date and accurate. We ask anyone making use of the list to contact us with clarifications in the event of errors or omissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity is-style-wide is-style-wide--1\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Species occurring in Qatar are recorded as below; only Category A, B and C taxa are included on the official list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Category A &#8211; Taxa occurring in an apparently wild state.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Category A taxa<strong> are <\/strong>included in the official Qatar List.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Category B &#8211; Taxa on the Qatar List for which there is an accepted historic record, and which would otherwise appear in Category A, but for which there is currently no known supporting documentation.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Category B taxa <strong>are <\/strong>included in the official Qatar List.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Category C &#8211; Taxa that, although originally introduced, now derive from the resulting self-sustaining populations.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Category C taxa <strong>are<\/strong> included in the official Qatar List<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Category D &#8211; Taxa for which vagrancy is possible, and which would otherwise appear in Category A, except that there is reasonable doubt of natural occurrence.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Category D taxa <strong>are&nbsp;not&nbsp;<\/strong>included in the official Qatar List.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Category E &#8211; Escaped, released or otherwise unnaturally introduced taxa that do not derive from self-sustaining populations and for which vagrancy is highly unrealistic.&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Category E taxa <strong>are&nbsp;not&nbsp;<\/strong>included in the official Qatar List<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Category F &#8211; axa whose occurrence in Qatar has been demonstrated in the ancient, archaeological or palaeontological, record and which are not represented in either Category A, B or C.&nbsp;<em>Category F taxa <strong>are&nbsp;not&nbsp;<\/strong>included in the official Qatar List<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Qatar List provides the &nbsp;official record of bird taxa occuring in a wild state in Qatar.
